The Stocking Secret

The key to the donation closet is locked in a combination box, and the only clue is stitched onto the four felt stockings hanging by the fireplace.

Clearly the colors mean something and help guide what numbers matter, what needs to be counted, and what order, etc.

The order of the numbers, on the lock box, actually matches the order of the stockings -  Stocking A, Stocking B, Stocking C, Stocking D

The numbers and letters on the coloured flat squares mean nothing.

All one must do is count the felt squares, specifically the color.

So the first Stocking is Red, so count all red squares,

Then count all of the Purple Squares. Then Brown. Then Green.

This gives us 5 Red, 7 Purple, 3 Brown, and 6 Green. The other colors were nothing. Enter 5736 into the form.
